She has an extensive collection of antiques that she acquires from auctions estate sales and even storage units. Mary started her career as a photographer at Architectural Digest under Paige Rense. Then she started the company's own Mary Finds category. In this section, videos were shared on ways to decorate and renovate your house. After returning to Texas she set up a store under her same name that is a specialist in antiques. A&E Television producers spotted her when she worked at her antiques store and offered her a role part of Texas' version of Storage Wars. The show ran for three seasons and proved to be a huge hit. She was cast in the fifth season of Storage Wars because she had been gaining popularity. Storage Wars season 5 was her first time appearing on the show.
